How Many Times.

How many times did I see them today,
Spilling with moss, spoiling with algae
And the fauna of God's unpredictable beauty,
Pebbles like boulders that have the scent of you.

How many times did I walk through
The tidal wave, the trap door, portals
To the other side of lightness,
The unbearable lightness that tugs at my skin,
"Upward, upward", it cries through the cracks in the leaves in the trees.

How many times did I see you today
With your halo, making my hell
Illusory to the last element, a hologram
Of perfection and evasion,
Like a bridge for no water,
Like no reason for sleep.
